Who We Are

The Salvation Army is one of the world’s largest faith-based charities. Originally established in London, England in 1865, the Army has been helping people for more than 130 years in the United States. The Salvation Army has been serving Siouxland since 1888.

The Salvation Army USA’s  message of Doing The Most Good is a promise the organization makes to its contributors, clients, associates, officers and employees. The Salvation Army pledges to Do The Most Good with contributions of money, time and resources, evidenced in that 82 cents of every dollar donated are directly allocated to services that assist people in need provides many different programs and services that range from sheltering and feeding the homeless to rebuilding communities after natural disasters. We comfort the sick and elderly, support young people through after-school programs, and respond to needs in our community with practical help.

For more than 120 years The Salvation Army has demonstrated its ability to identify and meet urgent human needs efficiently in communities throughout the world. When you give to The Salvation Army, you can be assured that your money is going to assist those who need it most. Our wide range of programs means that we can help the whole person under the umbrella of one single agency.

What We Do

The Salvation Army exists to meet human needs wherever, whenever, and however we can. Through programs that serve the mind, body, and soul, we alleviate the effects of poverty, then work to address root causes.
