Who We Are
Founded in 1977, Heartland Counseling Services, Inc. is a Nebraska community behavioral health center that serves 11 of 22 counties in Region 4 Behavioral Health Systems, which include Boyd, Brown, Burt, Cherry, Dakota, Dixon, Holt, Keya Paha, Rock, Thurston, and Wayne. With it's location in Siouxland, Heartland Counseling Services, Inc. also serve residents of Iowa and South Dakota.
We exist to provide quality mental health and substance abuse outpatient counseling, education, community service programs, crisis response, and prevention services to individuals, groups and families and to provide consultation to community organizations.
What We Do
Heartland Counseling Services, Inc. has four physical locations in Nebraska that include Ainsworth, O’Neill, South Sioux City, and Valentine, with the main office being in South Sioux City. We provide an array of services that include, but that are not limited to the following: mental health and substance abuse evaluations and counseling, 24/7 crisis response team, intensive outpatient program for adolescents and adults, tele-psychiatry and medication management with Richard Young Outpatient Clinic, community support services for adults, day rehabilitation programs in South Sioux City called The Life Center, group counseling at Dakota County Jail, DUI/OWI classes, anger management classes, and substance abuse prevention classes at the several local school districts.
