Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) is one of Iowa's largest human services agencies with over 20 sites throughout the state. LSI is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). Our work is guided by our core values: Unite, Respect, Grow, and Empower.
We partner with children, youth and families, people with disabilities, older people, and people of refugee status – helping people in times of need, strengthening families and advocating dignity and social justice for our neighbors in the community.
LSI is an affiliated social ministry partner of the Iowa congregations of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) and a member of LSA (Lutheran Services in America). We proudly serve people of all ages, abilities, religions, sexes, gender identities, national origins, ethnicities, races, and sexual orientations.
We provide human services to people of all ages. The services we provide span a wide range, too - from therapy and intensive crisis intervention with families to community support for individuals with disabilities. LSI's Immigrant and Refugee Community Services is a great way to connect as a volunteer.
IRCS welcomes Siouxland's newest neighbors through resettlement assistance and education. Our goal is to help clients achieve self-sufficiency in their new home through job placement, cultural orientation, and English Language Learner (ELL) classes.
At LSI, volunteers are essential to strengthening and growing our community impact. We are currently seeking Resettlement Support Volunteers and Classroom Volunteers.
