Volunteers are needed for a youth event in Sergeant Bluff – NO EXPERTISE NEEDED! FIRST is an international organization created to help students develop skills in problem solving, teamwork, strategizing and creative thinking. Please help us inspire Iowa's 4th - 8th grade students. The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge.
For the event, 20 teams build a robot and program it to preform detailed tasks, plus the teams present a separate project to judges. For this year's project, students find solutions to problems faced by people in cities. Teams are also judged on their teamwork skills.
General volunteers are needed for this fun, high energy event. We also need help setting up the event Friday evening, 5:00 to 8:00.
