Volunteer: Volunteer Blood Drive ChairpersonDescription of role: As a volunteer chairperson you ensure nearly 2,000 units of blood will save lives weekly in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. You are the key to helping us recruit volunteer blood donors in our community for local hospital patients!
Primary Responsibilities Ask others to help with volunteer roles: Distribute and display the promotional materials. Table tents, posters, memos, yard signs, etc. Begin recruiting donors and scheduling appointments. Call, text and email donors. Use social media to spread the word. Encourage others to invite a family member or friend. Help at the blood drive by escorting donors or manning the snack area.Get the word out early – the number one reason someone donates is because they were asked! Calling or texting donors is the key to success Also utilize email, social media or word of mouth to spread the wordPromote your event with the materials provided by LifeServe Blood Center Hang posters, set out table tents, hand out postcards, whatever it takes to get the word outRecruit donors early and schedule appointments

DESCRIPTION: We are looking for local volunteers who are willing to transport units and supplies to our donor centers and area local hospitals. We have a wide variety of trips, anything from 5/10 minute trips to 3 hours or more. We provide the vehicle and almost any other accommodation that you may need. We utilize an online scheduling system which allows you to sign up for whatever trip interests you, at your convenience.
This is a crucial part of our organization, so come help us save lives! TIME COMMITMENT: We are very flexible and accommodating. The only time commitment we ask is what you are willing to sign up for. After that, we just ask to be punctual and reliable. Agency: LifeServe Blood Center
