If you like gardening or the outdoors, or if you have a community group that wants to do some service work, we have a spot for you. We have several fun ways to help feed families, - as gardeners, delivering produce, weeding, harvesting, and helping at the Food Pantry. Voices for Food operates a large cooperative learning garden, which annually produces over 16,000 pounds of produce donated to food pantries and community agencies serving families needing food assistance. This is a community based project- made up entirely of volunteers just like you! Harvesting is usually done in the morning when it is cool, but garden work can be done every day of the week and fit almost any schedule. Food Pantry days are the first, third, and fourth Thursdays and the second Friday of each month. This is a family friendly project and service groups, youth groups, family groups are welcome and encouraged to participate. This could be one-time a month commitment or multiple days.
