Who We Are

Voices for Food is a community based project in food security.  Working with volunteers to address food security issues by engaging the community in activities that create equity in a healthy food system for all individuals. 

 

What We Do

Voices for Food implements and overseas a large community garden and community garden collection program, which puts fresh foods into the food system for families in need.

The council manages:

Community based garden project

Community Garden Collection program

Raised bed gardening at several human service agencies

Manages funds to support and assists in coordinating the Dakota City Food Pantry.

Need assistance- planting- harvesting, weeding, transporting produce to pantry sites- 

We harvest and deliver 300-400 pounds of produce weekly during the summer to food pantries and human service agencies serving low income families.
