Who We Are
Genesis House was originally established as The Bridge in 2007. It was the first transitional housing facility for women and children in the rural counties (Sioux, Plymouth, Osceola, O'Brien, and Lyon) of Northwest Iowa. The Bridge was dissolved in 2017 and Genesis House took over the space previously occupied by The Bridge. Genesis House is a non-profit, faith-based transitional living program for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, poverty, homelessness, and addiction. Residents can stay at Genesis House for up to 24 months.
Our Mission Statement: To provide faith-based housing and holistic supports for women and children impacted by homelessness and domestic violence.
Our Vision Statement: Empowering women and children to a life of independence free from poverty, addiction, and violence.
