What We Do
Mid-Step was founded in 1977 in response to a community need for comprehensive services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Gary Turbes, Founder of Mid-Step Services, started the first Mid-Step program in Cherokee for six individuals with four staff members. Over the years Mid-Step has grown in response to community needs. We currently manage over 20 residential and vocational programs in Cherokee, Lawton, Sergeant Bluff, and Sioux City IA.
