Who We Are

The Iowa Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emotional support to SIDS and SUID families in Iowa, educating professionals and the public about SIDS and risk reduction.

What We Do

The Iowa SIDS Foundation has a 3 main objectives prioritized in our mission.

1. Grief Support:  We offer grief packets to parents, grandparents, and siblings.  In addition, we utilize volunteers as peer contacts, support group facilitators, and to contribute articles for newsletters and other publications.

2. Education:  The Iowa SIDS Foundation provides a variety of educational opportunities to advocate the AAP safe sleep recommendations.  Examples include posters, brochures, parent education vendor booths, conference displays, and on site presentations/trainings.

3. Fundraising:  Funds raised help implement our day to day operations, as well as our annual contribution to research.  Volunteers are needed to help with events, specifically our annual Walk for the Future (held on the 4th Saturday of August).  The Siouxland has an active network of volunteers that host the Le Mars location and welcome any new persons interested in volunteering in planning and or on Walk Day.
