Who We Are

The Siouxland Foster Closet provides free clothing and necessities for youth in foster and out-of-home placement in the Sioux City, Iowa, area (including the Union County, South Dakota and northeast Nebraska areas!)

We are a volunteer-run organization whose mission is to follow God’s commands to love, to care for children (James 1:27), and to give out of what we have (1 John 3:17, James 2:15-16) by supporting children in out-of-home placement and the families caring for them.

What We Do

We at the Siouxland Foster Closet have some big ideas for the future, but we need more feet on the ground! We are looking to grow our volunteer base, and especially our Board of Directors! We are a working board - and we need more people with a variety of experiences and backgrounds to help with our board, and lead or be part of committees! We're still new at this, so new volunteers and members get to be part of the fun as we figure out and launch new programs!

We need you to help, or maybe even lead, as we work towards creating programs that are aimed at helping children who are navigating this confusing world of foster care.

Want to be part of the mission? This might mean feet-on-the-ground volunteering at the closet, being involved in a committee, being on the board or any combination of these.

Not interested in being part of a committee, but want some simple regular volunteer hours? Come work with us as we sort and organize our donations to keep our shopping area stocked and looking nice.
