SafePlace is looking to grow its team of direct service volunteer advocates in both Woodbury and Plymouth counties. We are looking for individuals who would be comfortable with working directly with our clients, providing advocacy, support and safe options. Must be willing to complete required Victim Advocate training. Training is offered both in-person and online.
Direct Services include (but not limited to): working with survivors living at the SafePlace shelter, answering our crisis line, cooking dinner, assisting advocates with facilitating support groups, providing transportation to survivors, assisting survivors with filing for protection orders, attending court hearings, responding to hospital calls for survivors who need medical attention, and various other services.
This is a great opportunity for students needing volunteer hours or wanting experience in a social service field! To learn more, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Jane, at 712-277-0131 or jane@safeplacesiouxland.org
